Super Auto Pets Tier 5 Pets

Super Auto Pets tier 5 pets show up from around turn 11 onward. This tier has gone through a lot of nerfs over the game’s lifetime, so a handful of pets that were once considered the best in the game have settled into “good, not broken” territory, while some new additions from later packs have quietly become the real standouts.

Part of the ongoing series: tier 1, tier 2, tier 3, and tier 4.

S-Tier Pets

  • Skunk: A classic of this game for a reason. Whatever team you’re facing almost always has a statted-up pet somewhere in it, and Skunk punishes that automatically. Simple, consistently strong, never a bad pick.
  • Cow: A two-gold buy-sell for six stats total (2 attack, 4 health). Easy to overlook because it’s not flashy, but the math on it is genuinely one of the best in the tier.
  • Ibex: One of the best pets in the game, not just this tier. Incredible in versus specifically, punishing hard against any opponent leaning into a scaling strategy.
  • Panther: Makes every piece of equipment on your team better. There isn’t much more to say, it’s just consistently one of the strongest pets available.

A-Tier Pets

  • Fire Ant: Right on the edge of S-tier. Easy to forget about as newer, flashier pets get added, but it’s still one of the strongest tier 5 picks in the game.
  • Nyala: Also bordering on S-tier. Free tempo the moment you buy it, with real long-term trumpet upside on top.
  • Rhino: A reworked ability turned this from a trap pick into one of the best buff targets in the tier, since it can now land its snipe even if it dies in the trade.
  • Scorpion: With how common status ailments have become, this is a genuinely strong pick now, not just a novelty.
  • Secretary Bird: Moved down a tier a while back and it’s still just as strong as it always was.
  • Zebra: Two gold for four stats on a buy-sell. If you rate Blue Ringed Octopus highly, rate this the same way.
  • Geometric Tortoise: Annoyingly strong. One of the better buff targets in the whole tier.
  • Beluga Whale, Blue Ringed Octopus, Crane, Farmer Crow, Flounder, Fox, Macaque, Salmon of Knowledge, Starfish, Sting Ray: All strong, reliable tier 5 picks. Crane in particular is worth prioritizing if you’re already running Melon-focused equipment.

Everything Else in the Tier 5 Pool

Pet Tier Quick take
Amalgamation B Real tempo, though it does create some setup issues to work around.
Axolotl B Nerfed recently, still solid.
Bad Dog B Can win battles outright if your team is set up for it.
Chicken B Not as strong as it used to be, still one of the easiest paths to 10 stats in customs arena.
Eagle B Not as strong as it once was, still one of the better summon pets in the game.
Goat B Low investment, instant return. A genuinely good pet.
Hamster B Recently nerfed, still solid.
Kappa B Put it up front and you’re probably getting good value. Can be pilled too.
Nessie B Might be even higher, but it forces you into rolling to really pop off.
Nurse Shark B Conditional, but there are so many ways to get trumpets that it’s more reliable than it looks.
Painted Terrapin B Hands out real value to the pet behind it, especially early.
Pelican B Conditional, but pops protective equipment and works well in summon lines.
Red Dragon B Wildly underrated by most of the playerbase.
Rooster B One of the better buff targets in the tier. A fully statted Rooster wins almost every fight.
Snapping Turtle B Causes real problems for opponents.
Stonefish B Both toys it hands out are genuinely good.
Turkey B Nerfed, but still a solid pivot enabler that also works in battle.
Vulture B Strong with the right team comp behind it.
Werewolf B High variance turn to turn, but comes out ahead more often than not.
Wolf B Low investment, high impact, works with a lot of summon lines.
Crocodile C An instant-impact unit that’s usually a good buy, just lacks a higher ceiling.
Dragonfly C Low effort, gets the job done without being overwhelming.
Kitsune C Great in its own pack, questionable outside it.
Marine Iguana C Gives out Melon, which is reliably good value at any tier.
Mosasaurus C Same category as Kitsune: great in its own pack, iffy outside it.
Pichu C Great in its own pack, questionable outside it.
Polar Bear C A solid pivot piece that’s now homeless after being removed from Star Pack.
Red Panda C Gives you early access to a tier 6 pet, though the pull is random.
Sea Cucumber C Can override perks, though better perk-overriding options exist elsewhere.
Snow Leopard C Jump attacks are fine, just not a standout mechanic.
Swordfish C Takes a while to get online, but can be dominant with the right support.
Blue Jay D Slightly below okay.
Emu D Makes strong pets around it stronger, but isn’t strong on its own.
Giant Pangasius D Only really worth it if you’re going all-in on transforms.
Hawaiian Monk Seal D Finds value in a lot of teams, just not a standout at this tier specifically.
Husky D Not what it used to be, but it’s still stats on the board.
Hyena D Pretty bad, but not unplayable if you build around it.
Loveland Frogman D Easy scaling, but with real conditions attached.
Raccoon D Fantastic if you get it online, easy to write off if you don’t.
Reindeer D A fine buff target, just slow to get going.
Rock Hopper Penguin C Hands out a genuinely large amount of Trumpets, works well with summon pets.
Seal D Better scaling options exist elsewhere at this tier.
Shoebill D Good in its own pack, can still get messy even there.
Silver Fox D Can do big things if you buff it early enough, otherwise unremarkable.
Taita Thrush D Fun, but better options exist.
Woodpecker D Solid in its own pack, mediocre outside it.
Armadillo E Can help in specific builds, otherwise weak relative to the rest of the tier.
Banggai Cardinalfish C Popular for a reason. Pretty strong once it’s actually on board.
Brahma Chicken E Fun, but really only works alongside sniper pets, and other scalers do the job better.
Egyptian Vulture E Too many conditions, too many better options available.
Giant Isopod E Bad, even though it’s beloved by the community.
Orchid Mantis E You’re better off going a different direction.
Hippocampus F Only really worth running alongside Kitsune specifically.
Tarantula Hawk F You have to build your whole team around it, and even then the payoff isn’t there.
