You know that feeling when you dive into a game on your commute and it just… works? Yeah, Overwatch on Switch 2 is finally there. Well, sort of. I’m pleasantly surprised to see it functioning as intended, but let’s not kid ourselves. It’s still an update or two away from being anywhere near “great”. So, pull up a chair, because we’ve got a dozen stories to navigate today, and you won’t want to miss the rest of the lineup either.

Overwatch on Switch 2 works as intended now, but it’s still a few big updates away from greatness

Staying in the live-service world, Overwatch made its shaky debut on the Switch 2 last week. We’re talking so bad we had to check if Blizzard accidentally uploaded a beta version. Eurogamer spilled the beans on how the FPS cap issue made the game almost unplayable. It was a classic, “Did you even test this?” moment.

Thankfully, Blizzard wasn’t snoozing for too long. They rushed out a patch to tackle the FPS blunder, and now Overwatch runs as it should. But before you get too excited, this victory lap is short-lived. A few big updates are still in the pipeline before we can call this port anything close to great. Blizzard’s got their work cut out for them, and only time will tell if they step up its game.

Capcom’s New Original Game, Pragmata, Just Did Something Very Impressive

For the RPG fans, Capcom just hit a home run with Pragmata. In a world drowning in sequels and remakes, it’s refreshing to see something original break through. Pragmata sold over 1 million units in just 48 hours after its launch on April 17. Not bad for a new IP, right?

The game is a sci-fi action-adventure set in the near future, featuring Hugh Williams and his companion, a robot girl named Diana. Capcom proudly states that it was developed by their younger team, bringing fresh ideas to the table. Nice to see the new blood stepping up.

Marketing efforts, including a playable demo and a strategic launch on Switch 2 in Asia, have clearly paid off. It’s rare to see a new game create such “momentum” as Capcom says. Reviews are singing its praises too, with GameSpot giving it a 9/10 and Metacritic showing an impressive 86 score.

This might just be Capcom’s next big franchise. It’s available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2 if you’re keen to see what the fuss is about. Kudos to the devs. Let’s hope they keep the momentum going.

Netflix’s Steel Ball Run’s episode 2 release date controversy, explained

For the RPG fans, Netflix has once again found itself in hot water. The issue? Delays in episode releases for Steel Ball Run, the latest chapter in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. If you remember the drama with previous JoJo titles, this should feel like déjà vu. Polygon reports that fans were expecting episode 2 on a specific date, but Netflix decided to play hard-to-get with its release schedule. The outcry on social media was immediate and, let’s be honest, totally expected.

Now, here’s what you need to know. This isn’t about waiting a couple of days; it’s the uncertainty that’s driving fans up the wall. Netflix’s track record with anime releases has been spotty at best, and this only adds fuel to the fire. We get it, Netflix is juggling a lot, but come on. A little consistency isn’t too much to ask, especially when you’re dealing with one of the most loyal fanbases out there. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle this moving forward, but for now, it’s safe to say fans are not amused.

For the RPG fans, there’s a nostalgic buzz in the air. Argonaut Games, that legendary British studio that brought us the original Star Fox and a weirdly satisfying Ren & Stimpy game back in the ’90s, is at it again. They’re seemingly gearing up to give Buck Bumble a fresh coat of paint. If you weren’t into cyborg bumblebee shooters on the N64, well, you’ve missed out on some unique gaming history. PC Gamer hints that a remake is likely on the horizon, all thanks to Argonaut’s revival in 2024 after nearly two decades of dormancy. Jez San, the brain behind it all, has already wooed fans with a remaster of Croc, proving that even the quirkiest titles can make a triumphant return.

GTA 6 Company Boss Says AI Can Be Used For Evil, But “Woe Is Me” Risk Is Overblown

On the other side of the industry, Strauss Zelnick, the head honcho over at Take-Two, has some thoughts on AI. You know, the tech that’s either bringing the robot apocalypse or just helping us dodge drawing grass by hand. According to Zelnick, AI doomsday talk is overblown. Sure, it can be used for evil, but so can scissors. Take-Two’s aim is to let AI handle the boring stuff so human artists can focus on creating epic creatures. Also, AI’s not here to steal our jobs, as Zelnick reminds us, mentioning folks like Elon Musk work like maniacs despite having AI in their toolbox. So, yeah, Take-Two’s playing it smart, keeping AI in check while pushing for creativity. Looks like AI’s just another tool in the belt, not the end of the world. Thanks to GameSpot for the scoop.
