Best Palworld Base Locations (2026): Updated for 1.0

Updated July 2026. Palworld 1.0 dropped on July 10 and redrew the map, so the old version of this list is retired. Every spot below was checked against the 1.0 world. Coordinates are the in-game (X, Y) readout and a couple of the newer ones may drift a few units, so treat them as “land here and look around.” Palworld 1.0 quietly broke every base location guide on the internet, including mine. Pocketpair added the Sunreach sky islands, the World Tree, seven new small islands, and then relocated around 39 Alpha bosses for good measure. I spent the launch weekend flying laps around the map instead of doing literally anything productive, and this list is the result. Here’s the short version of what changed for base builders. Resources are now scattered everywhere on the old map, so you no longer need to camp the volcano for sulfur or freeze in the snow biome for quartz. Quarry structures let you produce ore, coal, sulfur, and quartz with zero natural nodes nearby. And the new Aquatic Construction Kit lets you build on open water. Location is now less about node math and more about picking a spot you actually want to log into. What Makes a Base Location Good in 1.0? Same three-part filter as before, with updated weights. Buildable space. Flat…

FAQ

What are the three most important factors for choosing a Palworld base location?
The three key criteria are: Resources (mining nodes, meteorite spawns, faction bases), Buildable space (flat terrain is crucial), and Safety (raid frequency and enemy levels). Using these as your filter will help you avoid bad placements like the one that got raided by level 40 Pals in 45 minutes.
Why should I build near enemy faction bases?
Enemy faction bases drop exclusive custom schematics you can't get from the tech tree, and they have the highest treasure map drop rate in the game. Plus, releasing caged Pals gives you guaranteed Kinship Peach drops, which adds up over time.
What's the best base location for mining ore and coal?
The coordinates 192, 38 is the best resource base on the main island, featuring 5-6 ore nodes and 5-6 coal nodes in a single base radius on a non-raidable mountain peak. Pals actually farm physical nodes faster than automated mining stations, making this location objectively the most resource-efficient.
Where should I build on Sakurajima if I want to avoid raids?
The Waterfall Base on Sakurajima is the top pick, it has two stackable oil nodes, dungeon access, and a Pal Expedition Station positioned in the cliff face that blocks the only raid approach, making it effectively non-raidable.
Can I build a base on the new Terraria islands from the Tides of Terraria update?
No, you cannot build directly on Terraria islands themselves. However, they're valuable for farming, they're the only locations where Kinship Peaches spawn naturally, and they have exceptional fishing with sparkle spots that guarantee rare passives or alpha Pal spawns.
