Apex Legends Season 30 Legend Tier List, Who’s Actually Good After Split 2

I spent the last two weeks running everything from Loba to Catalyst trying to figure out who’s actually worth picking in Marked. Then the Split 2 patch dropped on September 15 and rewrote half the answer. Here’s where the meta actually sits, not where a tier list from launch week still thinks it is.

What Changed In The Split 2 Patch

Four legends got real buffs. Conduit’s ultimate fires faster and the jammers deploy tighter and quicker. Fuse got base explosive damage resistance and a faster Knuckle Jump. Catalyst’s tactical auto-reinforces doors on a shorter cooldown and now damages anyone who touches a spike. Bloodhound’s cloak got harder to spot and stopped dropping the moment you take ring damage.

Two legends got trimmed. Axle’s ultimate lost more than half its stun duration (1.5 seconds down to 0.25) and 50 max HP, and the cooldown went up. Seer’s tactical no longer slows an enemy’s turn speed when it hits them, so people you tag with it can actually spin and fight back now.

None of this is a full meta reset. It’s a correction. The legends nobody was touching got a reason to exist, and the legend who was steamrolling lobbies got a real answer.

S Tier

Loba. Still the best legend in the game and it isn’t close. The buffs from launch (faster equip, more range, way less travel time on the bracelet, a shorter ult cooldown) turned her from a loot-reset button into something you can actually fight with. She’s sitting around 24% pick rate at the Predator level, tied for the most played legend in the game, and loot scarcity this season makes her value even higher since she’s the fastest way to see what’s actually in a building before you commit to it.

Axle. He walked into Split 2 as the other legend tied for that 24% pick rate, and the patch notes explain why Respawn went after him. A 1.5 second stun that’s now 0.25 seconds is a completely different ability. He’s not falling out of the meta overnight, the mobility and the ult’s utility for a team push are both still real, but if you’ve been running him on autopilot expect the stun to stop winning fights it used to win clean.

Seer. Consistently the third most picked legend all season, and the nerf doesn’t touch the part of his kit that actually matters. His tactical still cancels ability activations outright, which means it turns off a Conduit shield, a Newcastle wall, a Gibraltar dome, or a Lifeline res the instant it lands. That’s why he stays relevant in a season this support heavy even after losing the turn slow.

A+ Tier

Vantage. Climbed into a top-5 pick rate this patch with zero direct buffs, which usually means players found something the tier lists were sleeping on. Her sniper and the intel from Echo’s scouting are a clean fit for a season where information is worth more than ever with loot this scarce.

Pathfinder. Been a steady 9 to 10% pick rate through both patches. Grapple mobility never stops being useful, and he’s cheap to learn relative to what he gives back.

Conduit. The biggest pick rate riser from the buffs. She wasn’t even showing up in the top tier before Split 2 and now she’s pushing 6%. A faster ultimate that’s actually hard to punish while it’s firing, plus preview visuals on the shield bar so your team knows when to push, turned her into a real support pick instead of a backup Wattson.

A Tier

Bloodhound. This is the actual redemption story of the patch. The August rework landed with a 0.8% pick rate and a D grade, and every site that called it S tier on paper was wrong. The visibility fix on the cloak and the change that stops ring damage from breaking it addressed the exact two complaints from launch. Pick rate has since climbed to over 4%, still low, but a five-fold jump for a legend that was dead on arrival is worth noting if you wrote him off in August.

Sparrow. Still the efficiency pick nobody talks about. Low pick rate, but the highest win rate of any legend that’s actually getting played in meaningful numbers. If you want an edge without fighting for a contested pick, this is it.

B+ Tier, Buffed But Still Niche

Fuse. The explosive resistance passive and the faster Knuckle Jump are real quality of life, and the upgrade tree got two new tools for scaling explosive damage further. Still a low pick rate legend, but less of a trap pick than he was at launch.

Catalyst. The tactical rework is the best thing that happened to her this season. Auto-reinforcing doors on a 15 second cooldown that also damages whoever’s trying to break through is a genuine area-denial tool now instead of a one-time wall. She’s still barely played at the Predator level, and that’s the point of the next section.

Crypto. Barely picked, but the drone intel is as useful as it’s ever been for a team willing to actually use it.

The Controller Legend Split, Read This If You’re Not At Diamond Yet

Predator players will tell you every controller legend (Caustic, Wattson, Rampart, Catalyst) is dead weight, because Predator lobbies punish holding a building with an instant third party. That’s true at that level and irrelevant to almost everyone reading this.

Below Diamond, stalling a fight from behind a wall or a gas cloud works, because the lobby doesn’t have six squads converging on a gunshot in ten seconds. Caustic and Wattson posted some of the best average RP gains in the game this season at sub-1% pick rates, and that gap is a placement stat, not a fragging stat. If your goal is climbing out of Gold or Plat rather than winning a tournament, these legends are underrated for exactly the reason Predators dismiss them.

FAQ

What’s the best legend in Apex Legends Season 30? Loba, by pick rate and by how her kit answers this season’s loot scarcity directly. Axle is close behind but just took the biggest nerf of the patch.

Did Bloodhound get better in Season 30? Yes, twice. The August rework landed weak (0.8% pick rate), and the September 15 Split 2 patch fixed the cloak visibility and stopped ring damage from canceling it. Pick rate has climbed since.

Is Axle still good after the Split 2 nerf? Still playable, still mobile, but the stun on his ultimate dropped from 1.5 seconds to 0.25 seconds. That was the core of why he was dominant, so expect him to slide down future tier lists even though he’s still near the top of this one.

Are controller legends worth playing in Season 30? Below Diamond, yes. Caustic, Wattson, Rampart, and Catalyst all have strong placement value from holding buildings, a strategy that mostly stops working once you hit Diamond and above.
