Lost Ark is a free-to-play action MMORPG that lets you create your own adventure. At launch, it offers 5 classes – warrior, martial artist, gunner, mage, and assassin. These can be customized even further with subclasses that have unique abilities.
Its storyline follows a Saga of Light. Civilization transitions from a period of order to an ‘eon of war’, followed by exploration and innovation. This story arc allows for hundreds of hours of gameplay across seven different continents!
When Did Lost Ark Come Out?
While Lost Ark was released in Korea at the end of 2019, it officially launched globally on February 11, 2022. The MMO’s development started back in 2011 and was originally codenamed Project T. Fast-forward 11 years and we can see the significant progress that Tripod Studios and Smilegate have made!
How Can I Play Lost Ark
You can download Lost Ark for free on Steam. They also offer several Start Packs for purchase, starting from $19.99, which give you access to additional content
The PC system requirements aren’t too high. You can get by with an i3 processor and a GTX 460 graphics card, but it’s recommended that you have at least an i5 with a GTX 1050.
Additionally, you’ll need a stable internet connection to get the most out of what this game has to offer.
Is the Game Any Good?
After two weeks out in the wild, Google is reporting that 86% of users like Lost Ark. Steam ratings are ‘mostly positive’ and the primary complaints have been with server issues. You’ll notice the overall ratings are skewed by some 1-star reviews that are upset about these problems. This has become the norm with online games over the years, so it’s not surprising to see this.
Since it’s a free game and the reviews are solid, this game is definitely worth picking up to try for yourself!
