This cute title is a small demonstration of just how powerful the PS5’s controller can be. While Astro isn’t as well-known as some of the other gaming mascots, the level design, and mechanics in this game are refreshing! Players get a nice walk down memory lane as the storyline portrays several pieces of Sony history. For a free title, it’s definitely worth trying out to experiment with the controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart ($69.99)
The Ratchet and Clank series is known for wacky weapons, silly dialogue, and action-packed battles. Our heroes debut on PS5 with more of the same plus some stunning visuals and a solid storyline. It’s not hard to justify shelling out this kind of money for a remake when the developers executed it so well. Demon Souls is in the upper echelon of difficult games and you will be reminded of this hundreds of times as you die throughout the story. However, this Souls game rewards preparation, practice, and patience, and is truly satisfying once you’ve mastered the combat mechanics. Additionally, you can enjoy playing cooperatively or competitively online to test your strength against human-controlled characters!
For the Stealthy Among Us
Hitman 3 ($39.99)
Have you ever wanted to be an assassin who stalks their prey and puts a swift end to their life? In this conclusion of the Hitman series, you’re equipped to do just that with an array of weapons and strategies. This is a slow-paced game that forces players to do their research on the target and choose the right moment to attack. Levels are masterfully designed, offering several avenues to accomplish your mission. All in all, Hitman 3 builds on what the first two games did really well.
For the Superhero in You
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered ($49.99)
The second remastered title on the list happens to be one of the best-looking games available. This PS5 installment of Spiderman follows Spidey’s journey in breathtaking 4K detail, with ray-tracing that allows for graphics that are surprisingly realistic. The original won a ton of awards, and the remastered version does everything better while adding some great bonuses!

Apex Legends (Free)
With Call of Duty plagued by cheaters, Apex Legends has risen to the top of the charts in the BR world. The developers have created an intertwined world of characters with rich backstories and exciting potential. Unique character abilities and an ever-growing pool of weapons ensure the game stays fresh from season to season. Even though crossplay is a bit frustrating when playing PC vs console, it’s nice to have the option to play with friends on other platforms.
For the Fan of RPGs
Final Fantasy VII Remake ($53.99)
When Final Fantasy VII was first released in 1997, the gaming world was in awe of the gripping story, the loveable cast of characters, and creative combat mechanics. We waited for two decades before getting a remake, and the wait was well worth it! The PS5 version isn’t the same game with upgraded graphics. It adds new storylines, characters, and a real-time combat system to switch things up. If you’ve played the original, you absolutely need to play the remake. If you’re new to RPGs, FF7 Remake is the first one you should try out on the PS5!
