Hello, Legends! How’s your Season 3 of Apex Legends Battle Pass coming?
Are you completing the daily and weekly challenges? Have you taken a detour to play the Winter Express mode? Also, what side of the fence do you stand on the skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) discussion?
While Respawn Entertainment has kept us busy with the ever-changing challenges and game modes, a new leak has revealed two new legends.
Revenant, who was the voice of the announcer during the Fight or Fright Halloween event, looks to be the next legend. We also learned a little bit more about Loba.
Because leaks can’t guarantee 100% accuracy, and likely may change, we will leave it to you to find the details on Reddit or Youtube.
However, seeing these new legends got my creative juices flowing. As I play through World’s Edge I often suggest different ability ideas to my squadmates. So, it didn’t take long to sit down and craft a few complete profiles of legends that could potentially fit into the game.
From the same brain trust that brought you the inaugural TAG Labs: Backyard Sports, I decided to tackle Apex Legends in our lab.
After reading through the combination of backstory, stats, and abilities let us know if you think they would cut it as Apex Legends. See the profiles we designed for each of the official TAG Labs: Apex Legends below!
Mimic
Hysterical Mime
Chester Douglas is an aspiring mime looking to make it big as the next blockbusting comedian. His stage name is Mimic and he brings a segment of his routine where he mimes out his jokes in honor of his idol, Charlie Chaplin. Donning a traditional mime outfit, Mimic is always looking to make people laugh.
- Character Type: Offense
- Gender: Male
- Nationality: Canadian-American
- Age: 22
- Height: 6’0 (1.83 m)
- Weight: 200 lbs (90.72 kg)
- Passive
- Mimic is nearly impossible to hear coming with his movement noise decreased by 90%
- Tactical
- Whoopee cushions: Mimic can throw up to 8 shaving cream-filled whoopee cushions around the arena. They can be placed on practically any surface and must be shot to be disarmed. When triggered, a loud fart noise is emitted and the shaving cream from the whoopee cushion spreads onto nearby players. The effect causes the players’ screens to be covered, at random, by a white goo for the next 3 seconds. Each covers between 8-24% of the screen (capping at 90%) which can be stacked, resetting the 3 second timer each time. Moving can speed up the process of clearing your screen, however, you leave a trail of shaving cream behind you. (This mechanic is very similar to the ink on Mario Kart.)
- Ultimate
- Mimic throws down a cloud of his own concocted mime gas. It is 50% larger than Caustic’s ultimate and cannot penetrate walls. The gas does not do any damage but it deactivates audible senses while inside of it for all non-Mimic players. Instead of gunshots, explosions, and any other audio cues, players will just hear an eerie white noise. Exiting the gas will slowly eliminate the effect after 5 seconds.
Klank
Combat handyman
Kwame “Klank” Mugo is a Kenyan-born retired handyman who worked most of his career for a local state government building. During his tenure, he was quickly placed into a managerial role where he oversaw the entire custodian work base. When not working, Klank spends most of his time practicing Zulu, an African stick fighting discipline. He loves reading about various martial arts from around the world and the newest engineering breakthroughs. Because of his dedication to nutrition and fitness, he is as agile as some of the most elite athletes, despite his age.

This process takes 10 seconds to complete (can be accelerated by Gibraltar’s dome) and creates an audible noise that can be heard by enemy teams. It has a cooldown of 45 seconds.

What do you think?
Would these legend concepts fit into Apex Legends battle royale? Did you have a favorite? Would any of them be too overpowered? What abilities would you tweak? If you have an idea you are sitting on let us know! If we get enough ideas maybe we’ll do a second part showcase post.
