The game was announced in June, and although many fans, including myself, were excited, there are mixed feelings about the visual overhaul. Square Enix lost the original game’s source code after its Japanese launch, complicating its availability today.
Despite my initial hope for an HD-2D remake, the new art style doesn’t quite capture the magic of the original pixel art for me. Thankfully, you can switch to the classic look, but this comes with the downside of missing out on modern features like fully voiced characters and a sleek updated UI.

Xbox’s cancelled Perfect Dark reboot could reportedly have been “revived”, but talks over Take-Two publishing it fell through
