Rogue Company – Best Weapon

Rogue Company has plenty of unique weapons to utilize to take out the opposing team. Each weapon is viable in its own right, but some are stronger than others.

Currently, there are 7 types of weapons in Rogue Company: submachine gun (SMG), light machine gun (LMG), designated marksman rifle (DMR), assault rifle (AR), sniper rifle (SR), shotgun, and pistol.

Flash’s Best Weapon – SL-C

Rogue Company SL-C

In the eye of the beholder

Determining the best weapon can be a difficult task. Variables such as play style and rogue selection can sway you in one direction or another.

For example, there’s little you can do against a god-tier Phantom with her LR15 Full Body sniper rifle. Also, a Lancer with her auto-shotgun, or if she gets a hold of Anvil’s LMG, could be disastrous with her S-tier roll-to-instantly-reload ability. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a shout out to one of my favorite guns, Saint’s ever-polarizing scoped assault rifle – the MLK Mark 4.

Still, if we look at the weapons across the board. I think there is one that stands out, rogue-independent. That weapon is the SL-C submachine gun.

Swift Death

An option for two deadly rogues, Ronin and Scorch, the SL-C boasts the shortest time to kill according to the data collected here. It handles like a charm, has a very quick reload, and just plain feels powerful.

It’s only weakness, along with any submachine gun, is range. If you force the issue and work different attack paths, this won’t be an issue.

I said I wasn’t going to include rogue abilities with my grading criteria but as a bonus, I’ll say this. Scorch’s ability to add additional fire damage makes this gun almost unfair. Several times, I’ve died before I realized what was happening against strong Scorches.

At the end of the day, the numbers don’t lie. If you are having a rough session, pick up this weapon, and watch things start to turn around!

Own the Mid-Range Game

Rogue Company maps put you in situations where you need to fight at many different distances. While the solo sniper rifle in the game can give you unlimited range, it requires high mechanical skill to get decent value out of the weapon.

One strategy I’ve adopted is to own the mid-range game to prevent the enemies from forcing close-range engagements. If you can kill your opponents before they get in close, you turn up the pressure and can often force them to panic.

Even with my strong positive bias towards Dallas, I don’t feel bad listing the HRM as the best weapon in Rogue Company. At first glance, it looks like a slower version of the KA30 with a smaller mag size. But once you get a hang of it, I feel it’s the strongest gun in the game!

Power + Versatility

Rogue Company is a fast-paced game, one where you are rarely shooting at a stationary target. Given the constant movement, you need to make your shots count. This is especially true with 20 bullets in the HRM.

To balance the small clip size, the HRM has the highest body damage out of any of the assault rifles in the game. Additionally, it’s got the fastest reload time of the ARs.

The base handling on this gun is the lowest of the bunch, but its handling stats almost match the KA30 when upgraded. Add this to the fact that the HRM has the second-best range in its class and you’ve got an incredibly versatile weapon that works at many distances.

As a cherry on top, this gun gains a suppressor at level 3, making it the ideal weapon for sneaky flanks. Once you get a hang of the handling, you’ll be racking up kills with the HRM-30KS in no time!

What do you think?

Again, weapon choice is some combination of science and feel. There are many variables to consider. Your rogue, your teammates’ rogues, the opponents’ rogues.

At the end of the day, pick what feels comfortable. And if nothing feels comfortable, get your butt into the shooting range!
