Palworld 1.0 Patch Notes: Everything New in the Full Release

Pocketpair wasn’t kidding about the size. The full Palworld 1.0 patch notes run over 10,000 words and literally broke Steam’s character limit before the team trimmed them to fit. I’ve read the whole thing so you don’t have to burn your lunch break scrolling.

Here’s everything that changed, sorted by what actually matters for those of us with jobs, families, and maybe six hours a week to play.

The 5 Things That Matter Most

  1. 72 new Pals. That’s 47 entirely new creatures plus 25 variants, pushing the total roster to 287. The biggest Pal drop in the game’s history, as promised.
  2. Two new regions, not one. The World Tree finally opens as the story’s conclusion, and there’s a surprise second region: Sunreach, a floating archipelago suspended above Palpagos by Paldium energy.
  3. Breeding got replaced by Mutation. The rumored “Genetic Recombination” name was wrong. The real system is called Mutation, and breeding now has a chance to produce mutated eggs with higher stats and unique passive skills.
  4. Work suitability goes to 10. The old 1-4 scale is now 1-10, and maxing a Pal through Condensation dropped from 116 copies to just 48. Your base grind got dramatically cheaper.
  5. Combat actually feels different. You can dash during aiming, attack mid-dash, and reload through dodge rolls, plus there are 13 new weapons.

New Regions: Sunreach and the World Tree

Sunreach is the update’s best-kept secret. It’s a set of floating islands above Palpagos, held aloft by Paldium, with its own civilization, exclusive Pals, sky tower bosses, and rare ores you can only mine with specialized equipment.

The World Tree is the story payoff two and a half years in the making. It concludes the central mystery of why the factions keep fighting over the towers, and it hides Radiant Gems in its depths that fuel the new Awakening system.

The rest of the map got busier too: Ancient Ruins with exploration minigames and schematic rewards, Watchtowers that reveal the map and double as fast travel points, 7 new small islands across volcano, desert, and ruins biomes, new settlements at the Bamboo Groves, Snowy Mountains, Sakurajima, and Sunreach, and enemy bases out at sea.

New Pals

All 72 newcomers are spread across Sunreach, the World Tree, and existing regions, so returning players will find fresh catches near old bases too. The pre-launch reveals (Dupin, Venusa, Tropicaw, Sekhmet, and friends) are in, joined by dozens Pocketpair never showed. Our full locations guide with every new Pal is coming this weekend.

The Wing Pack

Confirmed and in the game. The Wing Pack is equipment, not a Pal, so gliding no longer costs you a party slot, and you can fire weapons, throw Pal Spheres, and grapple mid-flight. Our full Wing Pack unlock guide with the verified recipe is live now.

New Systems: Awakening and Mutation

Awakening: gather Radiant Gems hidden in the World Tree and use them to awaken a favorite Pal’s hidden power, unlocking new moves, abilities, and higher stats. This is the new endgame chase.

Mutation: breeding now has a chance to produce a mutated egg with boosted stats and unique passives. New cake varieties feed the system, like Mushroom Cake, which raises the odds of higher-stat offspring. Full breakdown coming Sunday.

Reworked Systems

Tower Bosses: tower fights now tie directly into the revamped story, Sunreach adds entirely new tower bosses above the clouds, and Tower Boss Hard Mode got rebalanced around the new level 80 cap.

Wildlife Sanctuaries: no more casual poaching. Sanctuaries are now patrolled by drones, searchlights, and powerful boss Pals guarding those exclusive catches.

Story and missions: main missions were rebuilt into a connected storyline running through the towers, Sunreach, and the World Tree, with story-driven sub-missions, new NPCs, and collectible Journals. Heads up: mission progress resets in 1.0, though tower-boss missions auto-complete based on your defeat history.

Arsenal: 13 new weapons including the Laser Sword, Plasma Rifle, Mechanical Bow, and yes, a Metal Bat. The new Extra Weapon Holster lets you carry six weapons at once, and there’s a new Ancient armor series, 44 accessories, and Disposable Implants for passive buffs.

Multiplayer: dedicated servers get optional in-game voice chat, and guilds get real roles, permissions, and role-based access to shared structures.

Balance Changes Worth Knowing

The level cap is now 80, with raid bosses, Hard Mode towers, and oil rigs rebalanced to match. Enemy and boss spawns were reviewed across the whole map, bounty history resets, and the Pal Labor Research Laboratory got rebalanced with new research tiers.

Update, July 15: Pocketpair shipped hotfix v1.0.1 (build 1.100.619) with launch-week bug fixes. The base 1.0 release is build 1.100.427. One pre-launch rumor that did NOT ship: server clustering. One dedicated server still hosts one world, though servers did gain in-game voice chat, guild roles, and Discord linking.

Save Data: The Answer

Your existing save carries over. Nothing gets wiped. That said, with missions resetting, progression reorganized, and two new regions woven into the story, Pocketpair’s fresh-start recommendation makes more sense than ever. Keep the old world as a museum and start clean.

The Average Gamer Verdict

This isn’t a patch. It’s a relaunch. Between Sunreach, the World Tree, 72 Pals, and combat that finally respects your thumbs, 1.0 is the version of Palworld that Early Access always hinted at.

If you bounced off in 2024, this is the moment to come back, and the fresh start is genuinely the right call. The reorganized story gives the game a spine it never had, and the cheaper Condensation grind means busy players can actually reach the fun endgame stuff.

My plan for the weekend: fresh save, beeline the reworked early missions, and start hoarding Radiant Gem intel. Guides for all of it are rolling out through Monday.
