Today’s Gaming News Roundup

Movies and TV shows based on video games are pretty hit or miss for me. I love The Last of Us TV series, but can’t think of many others that fit the mold of transitioning a game to a produced series or movie. Are there other series that I’ve missed out on? Most definitely. However, I’ve also heard some pretty negative reviews and distinctly remember the public outcry over the original Sonic movie, which looked like a joke.

Fast forward to today, and I’m actually pretty hyped for Zelda’s cinematic debut! Ocarina of Time is still one of my favorite games from childhood, so I’m excited to see how the series converts to the big screen. Let’s get into all the details!

Upcoming New Video Game Movies and TV Shows: 2025 Release Dates and Beyond

Upcoming New Video Game Movies and TV Shows - IGN

Get ready for a wave of video game adaptations hitting both big and small screens. The Legend of Zelda is making its cinematic debut, while TV shows like The Last of Us, Fallout, and Mass Effect are also in the works. These adaptations promise to bring beloved gaming narratives to life in new ways. With the success of previous adaptations, there’s a lot riding on these new projects.

Why the sudden surge in game-to-screen adaptations? It’s partly due to the booming popularity of games and streaming services hungry for unique content. The Last of Us TV show, for instance, is set to premiere soon, with Fallout and Mass Effect following closely.
