In Response to Denuvo-Related Backlash, Inzoi Announces Removal: ‘We Sincerely Apologise for Not Aligning More Closely with Player Expectations’
Source: PC Gamer – March 26, 2025
Yesterday, the Inzoi subreddit was abuzz with posts claiming that the game’s full release would include the anti-tamper software, Denuvo. This sparked a wave of unrest amongst the community. Claims ranged from suggestions that these were merely rumors instigated by Sims psyops, to players declaring that Denuvo’s inclusion was a deal-breaker. One common sentiment was frustration over Krafton’s lack of transparency about the software’s presence. Amidst the online turmoil, director Hyungjun ‘Kjun’ Kim confirmed that Denuvo was indeed included, but will be removed in response to the backlash.

Napster, Formerly Known for Music Piracy, to Transform into a Metaverse for Musicians After $207 Million Deal
Source: PC Gamer – March 26, 2025
Contrary to popular belief that the infamous Napster music sharing platform was a thing of the past, a recent $207 million deal indicates a different story. The once notorious brand is set to make an unexpected comeback as a metaverse-based platform where musicians can directly connect with their fans. This could be viewed as a remarkable turnaround for a brand notoriously tied to mass music piracy. Adding to the surprises, Napster has quietly operated as a legitimate music streaming platform since 2016.

Embracing Ghoul Life in Fallout 76: West Virginia’s Ultimate Experience
Source: PC Gamer – March 25, 2025
There’s a running joke among my friends that I find a post-apocalyptic world, specifically the Fallout universe, appealing. I’m not talking about surviving ground zero, but rather the idea of sleeping for 100 years in a cryovat, then waking up to explore a new, untamed world. I fantasize about embarking on exciting quests, hunting for trinkets and scrap, and setting up a base that’s clunky but functional – perhaps my only shot at homeownership. But since a cryovat is unlikely to be part of my future, immersing myself in the world of Fallout games, particularly Fallout 76, is the next best thing.

Final Fantasy 14’s Patch 7.2 May Signal a Return to Its Acclaimed Roots
Source: PC Gamer – March 26, 2025
Long-time readers will be familiar with my previous grievances regarding Final Fantasy 14. The game, once revered, has fallen into a rut, unable to keep up with competitors and suffering from a monotonous formula. One particular sticking point was the storyline of Dawntrail. While conceptually intriguing, the actual narrative, the core of the experience, was lacking, nearly spoiling the game entirely. Patch 7.1, despite introducing the return of Koana to his home, fell flat for me. The sudden appearance of a tertiary character who conveniently resolved all of Koana’s tribal issues felt contrived.

Developers of Pacific Drive Reconsider: Game to Receive Mid-Run Saves a Year After Initial Rejection
Source: PC Gamer – March 25, 2025
As an ardent fan of Pacific Drive, having logged 87 hours on Steam so far, I’ve always been bothered by one shortcoming: the absence of a mid-run save feature. Many players share this irritation, as evident from various discussions on Reddit and the Steam forums. However, the good news is that a much-needed “suspend and quit” feature will soon be rolled out. Currently, Pacific Drive only auto-saves when you transition between junctions, which are the actual sites you traverse within the game.

Multiplayer Sequel to the 5th Highest-Rated Game on Steam in 2022
Source: PC Gamer – March 25, 2025
If you recall the top games of 2022, you’ll likely remember titles such as Elden Ring, Vampire Survivors, Persona 5 Royal, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Teardown, Card Shark, and Monster Hunter Rise, among others. However, one title you might have overlooked is Placid Plastic Duck Simulator. This uniquely themed game was one of the five best-reviewed games on Steam in 2022 and continues to hold a 95.36% rating. Its premise was simple but intriguing: observing plastic ducks as they float. That’s right; your only task was to watch, and in 2022, that was more than enough.

“Steel Hunters”: A Tactical Titanfall With an Extraction Shooter Twist Undermined by Uninspiring Loot
Source: PC Gamer – March 25, 2025
With less than a minute left on Steel Hunters’ countdown clock, the final pair of surviving Hunters lumber into view. They appear over a hill, heading towards the extraction point where my own team is waiting. Even across a half-mile of desolate wasteland dotted with dilapidated buildings, it’s clear that one is Weaver, a mechanical spider equipped with a chaingun. The other is Razorside, who would fit perfectly into Call of Duty: Warzone, if not for his eight-meter stature. Meanwhile, my own Hunter, Prophet, a hovering purple humanoid mech, is armed with a powerful railgun that inflicts substantial damage when fully charged.

The past few months have seen the release of some huge games. Monster Hunter Wilds, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Split Fiction, and Fragpunk have all gained significant popularity among players. Not to mention, REPO, a surprise indie hit. However, the question remains: which game has made it to the top of Steam’s global sellers list this week? Surprisingly, none of these titles hold the top spot. They’ve all been surpassed by a unique game that tasks players with building and managing their own drug empire.

As speculation swirls around the future of ‘The Last of Us’ video game series, fans are intrigued about the potential narrative trajectory after the HBO series covers the events of the second video game through Seasons 2 and 3. Earlier this month, series creator Neil Druckmann cast a shadow of doubt on the likelihood of ‘The Last of Us 3’, stating, “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.”
Given this, fans are naturally curious: if ‘The Last of Us 3’ doesn’t materialize, will Naughty Dog and Druckmann continue the TV series beyond the storyline of the games?
