Welcome to TAG Roundup!
Ever wonder what you missed in the world of gaming last week? No worries – we’ve got you covered!
We read a ton of video game articles each week and wanted to share some of our favorites with the Average Gamer community. We’ll feature everything from previews to reviews and everything in between.
The articles we share will be from a combination of well-known sources (like IGN) and more niche blogs that you may not have heard of. Without further ado, let’s jump into last week in gaming.
How Has The FF7 Remake Changed In 5 Years? – Polygon
I love the Final Fantasy series. Their rich stories and character customization has always drawn me to the series.
FF7 may be my favorite of the group. I have vivid memories of dumping hundreds of hours into the Playstation game and was hype when the remake was announced in 2014.
Luckily for us, we now have a side-by-side comparison of the changes that have been made over the last half-decade.
Things generally look smoother versus the original announcement and I can’t wait to play through this story again.
Monster Hunter World For Free – Game Informer
Go take on some big, bad monsters for free on PS4 until May 20th!
The game has generally gotten good reviews across the board. That means even if you haven’t been a part of the Monster Hunter series, this is a good chance to get an intro for free.
Semi-related, Dauntless is a free PC game with gameplay similar to Monster Hunter for anyone looking for an alternative.

How An Overwatch Hero Is Made – Gamespot
It’s no secret that we’re Overwatch fans. One of the coolest thing about this game is the frequency at which the developers add new characters.
The most recent addition to the roster was Baptiste, a combat medic with a very unique kit. I haven’t used him enough yet, but hope to get some footage to share of him soon.
Epic Store Getting Another Exclusive: Outer Wilds – IGN
If you liked No Man’s Sky, you’ll probably like Outer Wilds. Fly, explore, and discover in this futuristic survival game.
Epic continues to compete with Steam by gaining traction in the “exclusives” space. Outer Wilds will be a timed exclusive, so expect to see it on other platforms in the future.
Battlefield 5 Losing A Duos Mode – IGN
This is a feels bad moment. Dice originally launched the duos mode for a limited time because the gaming community was asking for it. Apparently, there wasn’t enough interest for the developer to continue supporting this mode.
It must be such a tricky thing to get your offerings correct in an online shooter. With the battle royale games taking over the scene the last couple of years, many game developers have hopped on the bandwagon. Others have tried to create a unique new experience to differentiate themselves in an otherwise crowded space.
I haven’t touched a BF game since Battlefield 3 on PlayStation 3, but the clips of kill streaks in the newest release look incredibly smooth.
