Welcome to TAG Roundup!
Ever wonder what you missed in the world of gaming last week? No worries – we’ve got you covered!
We read a ton of video game articles each week and wanted to share some of our favorites with the Average Gamer community. We’ll feature everything from previews to reviews and everything in between.
The articles we share will be from a combination of well-known sources (like IGN) and more niche blogs that you may not have heard of. In the previous TAG Roundup post, we talked about Pokemon Master, Xbox Game Pass, Breaking Bad and more!
Last week was jam-packed with E3 news (check out a comprehensive review here) so we’ll just touch on some of the lesser-discussed topics. Without further ado, let’s jump into last week in gaming.
A Legit Switch Joy-Con Replacement – Polygon
If the stock Nintendo Switch joy-cons feel small to you, Hori may just have the solution you’re looking for!
They will release a replacement controller that looks and feels much heftier, with larger buttons and joysticks. The design is pretty slick but they’re only usable in portable mode.
This replacement will ship in Japan in September 2019 and cost about $45.
Nintendo Went Ham – Polygon
You’ve probably already heard but Nintendo had a superb E3. From sequels to DLC to remakes, Nintendo had it all.
Personally, I’m most excited for Trials of Mana and the FF7 Remake, but they had a little something for everyone.
The Witcher 3 will certainly make the Switch work overtime but it’s great to see that major developers are continuing to port over to the portable juggernaut. We’re also getting a BotW sequel, so I may have to actually beat the first one.
Atari Retro Console on the Way – Endgadget
For my fellow 80s babies, I know you are fans of retro consoles. Atari is late to the game but will finally release their version in March 2020.
This time around, the developers are going with a very high price-point, especially when compared to the recently-released Playstation Classic. The $249 machine is 4K and is capable of playing modern machines.
Will you be picking this thing up next year or just wait for the PS5?
All the Game Releases – VG24/7
Brace yourself for some mouth-watering data!
Every year, VG24/7 compiles a list of release dates for as many games as possible. You read that correctly, all the major releases in one place.
There’s so much goodness here, so you may want to just heat up some popcorn and get to scrollin’.
