You know that feeling when you just can’t get enough of slaying demons and collecting loot in Diablo 4? Well, get ready for more, because an early look at the next expansion, Lord of Hatred, just dropped with a new book. I’ll admit, I’m both excited and slightly overwhelmed at the thought of diving back into the chaos, but who can resist the call of fresh content? We’ve got plenty more to cover today, so let’s jump into the latest stories making waves in the gaming world.

Over on the PC side, Diablo 4 fans have something to chew on with the new book teasing its next expansion, subtitled Lord of Hatred. Polygon reveals that our old pal Lorath is off to the Skovos Isles in what looks like the setup for the new chapter, The Lost Horadrim. If you’re a sucker for lore and world-building, this might be right up your alley. It’s nice to see the franchise expanding its narrative footprint beyond just hack-and-slash demon hunting.

We all know how Diablo 4 has been a bit of a mixed bag, with some of us loving the old-school dungeon crawling and others… not so much. This book seems like Blizzard’s attempt to add more depth to the universe. It’s a smart move, considering the recent chatter around the game’s endgame content, or lack thereof. Whether the expansion will hit the right notes is still up in the air, but hey, at least they’re giving us something to look forward to. Let’s just hope it doesn’t end up like some past expansions that promised the world but delivered a slightly larger map.

Limited Run Seemingly Throws Old Guard Under The Bus, Promising No Future Delays

Limited Run Seemingly Throws Old Guard Under The Bus, Promising No Future Delays

Meanwhile, over at Limited Run Games, they’ve been caught in a pretty turbulent storm. Known for using recordable media instead of pressed discs and facing some privacy lawsuits, they’ve been in the hot seat for a while. Apparently, the old management under former CEO Josh Fairhurst had a bit of a habit of overpromising on release dates and then, surprise, failing to deliver. GameSpot reports that the new crew is trying to clean up the mess by setting more realistic expectations. Their recent email to customers basically said, “Yeah, we messed up, but it’s all going to be different from now on.”

But here’s the kicker: this change in strategy means a ton of existing preorders are getting pushed back, with some now set to ship in late 2026. Talk about adding fuel to the fire. While their promise of more precise release dates in the future is a nice gesture, the gaming community is understandably skeptical. With the world economy being what it is, and the complex logistics of sourcing collectibles globally, it’s no wonder people are waiting to see if LRG can actually pull off this turnaround. For now, it looks like we’d better settle in for yet another waiting game.

Marathon’s most powerful gun gets a major nerf, as Bungie seeks to ‘curb a little bit of its dominion in the game’

Marathon's most powerful gun gets a major nerf, as Bungie seeks to 'curb a little bit of its dominion in the game'

For the RPG fans who’ve been melting faces with Marathon’s Biotoxic Disinjector, it’s time to brace for impact. Bungie’s decided that this red-tier weapon, which has been the go-to choice for vaporizing Runners, needs a bit of a handicap. If you’ve been enjoying turning your foes into pixelated confetti with the laser beam or wreaking havoc with the grenade launcher alt-fire, you might want to savor those memories.

According to PC Gamer, the Cryo Archive endgame map has been an endless source of high-tier loot, but the Biotoxic Disinjector was the shiny red jewel in the crown. After all, it was like having the power of a small sun in your backpack. Bungie thinks it’s time to dim that sun just a tad, so they’ve decided to nerf the gun’s effectiveness. They say it’s to “curb a little bit of its dominion in the game”, but we all know this is code for “Sorry, you’re too good at this now.”

Love it or hate it, nerfs are part of the gaming life cycle. Sure, it’s probably going to sting for those who lived for the thrill of obliterating enemies in style, but who knows? Maybe this nerf will open up some new strategies and breathe life into those forgotten weapons gathering dust in your inventory. We can always hope. But hey, that’s just my two cents.
