‘Call of Duty’ to Allow Console Players to Disable Crossplay, Potentially Impacting Legitimate PC Gamers

In response to console players’ concerns about cheating in Call of Duty, Activision is set to roll out an option that allows these players to disable crossplay in regular unranked matches starting from Black Ops 6 Season 3. This much-anticipated feature arrives six years after crossplay was first introduced as a central component in the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. Previously, the option to restrict crossplay was only available in Call of Duty’s ranked modes, spanning standard multiplayer and Warzone. However, Season 3 broadens this feature to also encompass “Multiplayer Unranked”, suggesting that it will apply to all other multiplayer modes in Call of Duty.
