Apex Legends has reached a huge milestone—its six-year anniversary! Season 24: Takeover is now live, and while this season doesn’t introduce a new Legend, it brings massive meta shifts that will reshape the way you play. From long-awaited buffs for Ash and Ballistic to the introduction of Arsenals, a complete rework of helmets, and the Creator Commissioners event, this season is packed with major gameplay changes.
Let’s break down everything you need to know about Takeover and how it will impact your matches.

Creator Commissioners – Let the Apex Legends Streamers Take Over
Season 24 introduces a brand-new community event: Creator Commissioners. Four prominent Apex Legends content creators—Ninjayla, Oraxe, Apryze, and Kaminari Qpi—will be taking over the Apex Games for two weeks each, introducing unique in-game challenges.
By completing these challenges, players can earn up to 20 Apex Packs and unlock exclusive Legendary-tier weapon skins chosen by each creator. Here’s the schedule:
- Feb 25 – Mar 10: Ninjayla (Death Ray Wingman)
- Mar 11 – 24: Oraxe (The Pioneer Kraber)
- Apr 1 – 14: Apryze (Bone Breaker Mastiff)
- Apr 15 – 28: Kaminari Qpi (Tombstick Mastiff)
This event allows the Apex community to engage directly with top-tier streamers and earn rewards just by playing.

Introducing Arsenals – No More RNG Weapon Drops
One of the most exciting additions this season is Arsenals, a brand-new type of Supply Bin designed to help players gear up more effectively. Unlike standard bins, which provide random loot, Arsenals contain loot specifically tailored to a weapon inside them.
Key Features of Arsenals:
- Always contain a weapon, ammo, and an upgrade station for the contained weapon.
- Reduce RNG, making it easier for players to find the right weapon early on.
- Appear across all battle royale maps in fixed locations.
This update means players won’t have to rely as much on loot luck and can instead focus on strategic engagements.
Sixth Anniversary Collection Event – Apex’s First-Ever Mythic Weapon Skin
Apex Legends is celebrating its sixth anniversary, and Respawn is introducing a Mythic-tier weapon skin for the first time ever: the Void Disruption R-301.
What’s in the event?
- 36 premium cosmetic items
- Unlockable Heirloom Shards
- A free reward track featuring fan-designed cosmetic items
For Apex collectors and R-301 lovers, this is a must-have.

Massive Buffs for Ash & Ballistic in Apex Legends
Respawn has decided it’s time to shake up the Legend meta, and two underused characters—Ash and Ballistic—are getting some serious upgrades.
Ash’s Buffs:
- Arc Snare: Now sticks better and is harder to break.
- Phase Breach (Ultimate): Faster travel speed, extended range (100m vs. 76m), and better placement reliability.
- New Passive – Predator’s Pursuit: Allows Ash to dash toward tethered enemies or dodge attacks in close-quarters combat.
Ash’s new passive ability makes her an even deadlier skirmisher, rewarding aggressive playstyles.
Ballistic’s Buffs:
- Whistler (Tactical): Now has two charges instead of one.
- Tempest (Ultimate): Now grants a speed boost to him and his squad.
- Passive Upgrade: Can now carry Care Package weapons in his third slot, and they will have infinite ammo when Tempest is active.
Ballistic’s rework makes him one of the most versatile Legends in Takeover, combining powerful debuffs with insane weapon perks.
New Assault-Class Perks – Game-Changing Upgrades
Assault-class Legends (Ash, Ballistic, Bangalore, etc.) are receiving significant perk changes, making them more self-sufficient in combat.
New Perks:
- Combat Reserve – Assault Legends can carry extra ammo per stack and gain two extra grenade slots.
- Stowed Reload – Weapons reload automatically when holstered for two seconds.
- Battle Surge – Breaking an enemy’s shield gives a speed boost, faster reloads, and enemy tracking for four seconds.
This rework makes Assault Legends more aggressive and resource-efficient, ensuring they always have ammo and explosives ready for battle.

Apex Legends Weapon Balancing – Major Muzzle Flash Reductions
Season 24 brings long-awaited weapon rebalancing, and one of the most significant changes is a 95% reduction in muzzle flash across all weapons.
Key Weapon Changes:
- R-99 returns to floor loot.
- Peacekeeper enters the Care Package (now fires piercing slugs that damage multiple enemies).
- Gold Weapon Rotation: Alternator, R-99, Wingman, 30-30 Repeater, Rampage.
- Shotgun Damage Buffs: EVA-8, Mastiff, and Mozambique all deal more damage per pellet.
- Marksman & Sniper Tweaks: Increased headshot damage across all marksman and sniper rifles.
The muzzle flash reduction is a game-changer, making it easier to track enemies mid-fight without being blinded by excessive particle effects.
Armor Overhaul – Say Goodbye to Low-Tier Helmets
Armor in Apex Legends has been reworked significantly, with Common, Rare, and Epic helmets being removed entirely. In their place, Respawn is introducing two new helmet tiers:
Gold Armor Upgrade Helmet:
- Doubles the healing effect of Shield Cells & Syringes.
- Sets armor to 100 HP (even if it’s lower).
- No headshot damage reduction.
Mythic Armor Upgrade Helmet:
- Sets armor to 125 HP.
- No headshot damage reduction.
- Found only in Mythic Supply Bins and Care Packages.
Additionally, players can no longer upgrade to Red Armor (125 HP) by farming EVO—Level 3 (Purple) armor is now the maximum you can earn through damage. Red Armor will only be available via Mythic drops.
This change makes fights less about armor grinding and more about skill, ensuring more balanced engagements.

What to Expect in Season 24 of Apex Legends
With Takeover, Respawn is doubling down on Legend reworks, strategic combat, and balancing gameplay mechanics. The removal of Red Armor farming, the introduction of Arsenals, and new Assault-class perks will fundamentally change how matches play out.
Expect Ash and Ballistic to rise in popularity, more diverse loot strategies, and a more balanced endgame without excessive red shields. And with the Creator Commissioners event bringing in community engagement, Apex Legends is embracing its players more than ever.
